The first grade Elementary Agricultural Education Standards introduce students to the foundational role agriculture plays in everyday life. Students learn about plant growth, food production, natural resources, weather, soil, and the products that come from farms and forests. Through hands-on exploration and age-appropriate leadership activities, students develop an understanding of responsibility, citizenship, teamwork, and the many ways agriculture supports their families, communities, and the world around them.
